Basic pronunciation

(η) is pronounced as a short ee
(το) is pronounced as in toll
(ο) is pronounced as in orange, either on its own or in a word
‘δ’ is as th in the
‘θ’ is as th in through
‘χ’ is as ch in loch
‘γ’ is as ch but a g sound (ask a greek to help you with these sounds first!!)
‘a’ by itself is always as in apple
‘γγ’ is as g
‘γκ’is as g
where there is a tone you must emphasise that syllable
